Created through a large scale community collaboration in January 2026, Adelaide's Giant Puppet is a celebration of culture and diversity. The South Australian Puppetry Network self funded and organised this ambitious build with the support of the Australian Migrant Resource Centre who provided a dedicated workspace.

 

Lead by puppeteer Felix Norgren (supported by the Swedish Arts Grant Committee) the team built the puppet over the course of one month and then had a launch celebration and naming ceremony.

 

Kira stands at 3.8m tall and is operated by one puppeteer, she can walk, dance and interact with people. She brings wonder and large scale visual storytelling to audiences of all ages. For bookings, collaborations or festival enquiries, please get in touch.
